Offer Description
IdiPAZ is seeking a specialist in Internal Medicine under the professional category of Senior Specialist to join the research group led by Dr. Jorge Álvarez Troncoso, Specialist in Internal Medicine. This is a permanent part-time contract for 14 hours per week. Two days per week from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The IdiPAZ Health Research Institute is the result of a partnership between the Hospital Universitario La Paz, the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, the Healthcare Advisory Council of the Community of Madrid and the Foundation for Biomedical Research of Hospital Universitario La Paz, which will be the managing body of the Institute. This strategic alliance has made it possible to tackle research projects through joint multidisciplinary teams belonging to these institutions, making the most of the human and material resources available to these entities for research and promoting research fundraising.
In 2021, the scientific production of IdiPAZ included more than 1,600 publications (articles, editorials, letters, reviews, etc), 43% of the publications being our own documents. Original research and review articles by IdiPAZ researchers exceeded 1,200, more than 45% in the first quartile and more than 16% were published in journals of the first decile. Researchers from our institute have shown their participation in national and international scientific networks, with more than 81% of the total number of papers published in collaboration (81.3%). As for collaborative publications, almost 56% were national collaborations and 45% were international collaborations.
Since our formal incorporation as an Institute in 2009, we have been implementing measures and actions of particular importance that have laid the foundations for a new organizational culture based on equality, diversity and non-discrimination. The selected candidate will perform the following duties:
- Support in the management of research studies: preparation and monitoring of protocols, obtaining informed consent, recording clinical data, and reporting adverse events.
- Collaboration in biobanking of samples (serum, biopsies) and serological analyses for phenotypic correlations in autoimmune diseases.
- Multicentre coordination: integration of registry data, preparation of reports and support in preliminary statistical analyses.
- Knowledge of systemic autoimmune diseases, clinical ultrasound and pulmonary hypertension. Priority will be given to candidates with training outside Spain and fluent communication in English. Demonstrated interest in research is required.
- Skills in GCP, GDPR and pharmacovigilance regulations; proficiency in data management software (REDCap, SPSS).

Additional Information
The working conditions offered are:
- Permanent employment contract for scientific and technical activities.
- Professional category of Senior Specialist in Group II of Area 2, according to the collective agreement.
- Part-time working hours of 14 hours per week.
- Gross annual salary: €17,179.
- Personal leave: 6 working days per year.
- Holidays: 22 working days per year.
- 24 and 31 December are non-working days.
The selection process will consist of two phases and the following scale will be applied, out of a maximum of 10 points:
-Training and curricular merits: 6 points.
-Personal interview: 4 points
In the event that two or more candidates match the values and needs of the institution and meet the conditions required for the post, and where there is a tie, the candidate with a certificate attesting to a minimum degree of disability equal to or greater than 33 per cent shall prevail.
