Offer Description
PhD position at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, at the Faculty of Sciences: “High performance computing for attochemistry: electron dynamics induced by ultrashort laser pulses”. Principal Investigator: Prof. A. Palacios. Project developed within the MATRIX consortium “Matter in Action with Optical and X-ray Lasers” funded by the Comunidad de Madrid.
Offer description:
The PhD project focuses on the emergent area of attochemistry. The main goal is to investigate novel pump-probe schemes combining pulses generated in a frequency range from the VIS-UV up to the X-ray region. Our rich theoretical toolbox includes ab initio full quantum full-dimensional numerical approaches to explore excitation and ionization of diatomic and small polyatomic molecules, and semiclassical approaches for larger systems (e.g., amino acids or anilines). The MATRIX network and the group will provide training activities including webinars, scientific courses and research schools. Close interaction with the experimental groups within the MATRIX network.
