Offer Description
Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 within UCD School of Biomolecular and Biomedical Science.
Infertility affects 17.5% of the adult population worldwide and its incidence is increasing with a significant number of couples presenting with an idiopathic cause for their infertility, hindering effective management.
This project is focused on identifying biomarkers from female blood plasma including those secreted by immune cells and mesenchymal stem cells, along with cell and serum extracellular vesicles. The aim is to discern distinctive biomarker sets for unexplained infertility (uIF) and unexplained recurrent pregnancy loss (uRPL) groups compared to healthy fertile women. The overall goal is to develop subtype-specific risk assessment tools, stratification strategies for uIF and uRPL patient groups, and personalized treatment targets for identified subtypes in vitro.
