Offer Description
Position available within the research project entitled: “Modelarea incertitudinii și efectelor spațiale în timp – aplicații în Finanțe/Modelling Uncertainty and Spatial Effects in Time – applications in Finance”, project number PN-IV-P2-2.1-TE-2023-1317.
The Babes-Bolyai University offers a position of Research assistant for one PhD-level student within the above-mentioned research project. The position aims to deal with applying and constructing data analysis methods for spatial and qualitative data related to the objectives of the research project.

Skills/Qualifications
- A strong passion and outstanding skills in statistics and experience working with programming languages and statistical software such as Python, R, Stata, Eviews, GeoDa or SAS;
- Knowledge in quantitative and qualitative modelling and spatial econometrics;
- PhD student in Cybernetics and Statistics;
- The ability to work on real-world problems in an interdisciplinary and internationally oriented environment;
- Good communication skills and an excellent command of English and Romanian
Specific Requirements
- Advanced knowledge in data analysis in general and, in particular, in Qualitative Data Econometrics and Spatial Econometrics.

Eligibility criteria
Candidates must be PhD students enrolled in a Statistics/ Econometrics PhD program, preferably Cybernetics and Statistics, that have studied Spatial Econometrics, Econometrics.
Must have strong written and oral communication skills in English.
