The European EPIC study, in which UNIPG participates, aims to sustainably improve the palliative care of critically ill patients hospitalized in intensive care, also using telemedicine to create a new care model harmonized at European level and adaptable to different territorial needs, opening up new possibilities for patient-centered care. The main objective of the research is to reduce the time spent in intensive care by initiating patients early towards palliation programs to alleviate the suffering of the patient and family. Ethical aspects will be also considered together with economic implications and cost-effectiveness evaluation from different perspectives
