Offer Description

The National Institute for Laser, Plasma and Radiation Physics has an open position for a research assistant– Master’s student with expertise in material physics. The selected candidate will be involved in the thin film fabrication and characterization of sensing media. The position will be part of Lasers Department research group, and the activity will be focused on developing of optical and chemoresistive gas sensors.

Skills/Qualifications
  • A university diploma in Physics, Applied Physics or Applied Physics Engineering, Material Science.
  • Basic skills in physics, material science, laboratory equipment, and practices (i.e., optical setups, analytical methods), data processing, documentation, communication, and teamwork.
Specific Requirements

The candidate must have:

  • Experience in testing of chemoresistive gas sensors
  • Fundamental notions in PVD deposition methods
  • Fundamental notions of operation of chemoresistive gas sensors
  • Fundamental notions of surface plasmon resonance
  • Fundamental notions of thin film physico-chemical characterization
  • Fundamental notions of physics;
  • Fundamental notions of optics, material science;
  • Abilities for laboratory tasks;
  • Abilities for data processing and analysis;
  • Good computer operation skills;
  • Good skills in written and oral communication;
  • Good knowledge of English.
