The Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics, by the authority of the Rector of the University of Gdańsk, announces a call for the position of Adiunct in the group of research and teaching staff at Division of Atomic and Molecular Physics in the Institute of Experimental Physics.

Skills/Qualifications
  1. The candidate should hold a PhD degree in physical sciences and meet the requirements set by law for individuals employed in the position of assistant professor.
  2. The candidate should have qualifications and documented experience in teaching at the basic undergraduate level in university physics or medical physics.
  3. An asset for the candidate will be knowledge and documented scientific achievements over the last 5 years in selected areas of the following topics: • Advanced knowledge of the principles of operation of equipment in the field of physics, particularly: atomic and molecular spectroscopy, nuclear physics, and medical physics, • Collision physics using ion and electron beams, • Molecular photophysics and photochemistry, stationary and time-resolved fluorescence spectroscopy methods, • Methodology of measurements in nuclear and medical physics as well as radiation physics, • General biophysics in environmental systems, • Analysis and creation of complex molecular systems (functional materials) important for fundamental research as well as widely applied in physical, biological, medical, and technical sciences, • Surface physical chemistry, colloids, and interfacial processes, • Advanced programming skills and numerical computation techniques.
  4. The candidate is expected to communicate fluently in both Polish and English at a level that guarantees the ability to conduct classes with students.
  5. For candidates whose native language is not Polish, it is required to present a certificate confirming proficiency in Polish at a level sufficient for conducting classes with students.
  6. An asset for the candidate will be leadership or participation in research projects funded by external sources. Engagement in preparing and submitting scientific and research and development projects is expected. Any relevant past and current experience in this area is highly welcome.
