ATLAS, HL-LHC, particle physics, High Energy Physics, heavy-ion physics, ITk Strip

The Department NZ14 is looking for a qualified candidate for the position of a postdoc to work in the ATLAS experiment group at the LHC based on a fixed-term employment contract up to 33 months.

The employed person will join the ATLAS experiment department. Our department's interests focus on the search for new physics in the extended Higgs sector and heavy ion physics research. We also participate in maintaining the currently operating Inner Tracker of the ATLAS experiment and preparing a new silicon microstrip detector for the ATLAS Phase 2 Upgrade.

The selected candidate will contribute to designing, integrating, and commissioning the power supply system for the new microstrip tracker for the ATLAS experiment, adapted to work on the HL-LHC. In addition, he will participate in preparing software for reconstructing charged particle tracks and identifying tau leptons in future experiments at HL-LHC. The candidate will also be able to join the group analyzing data collected during heavy ion collisions in the current ATLAS experiment. The applicant will be required to disseminate research results in the form of publications in leading scientific journals indexed in JCR and presentations at seminars and conferences, including international ones. This person will also be required to apply for external funds for research.
