Education:

• Minimum requirement: Completed Master's degree in Computer Science, with a preferred specialization in cybersecurity (teleinformatics system security).
• Also welcome: Engineering degree in computer systems and network administration.
• The topic of the Master's thesis should be strictly related to virtualization or network operating systems, in line with the responsibilities of the position.

Teaching Experience:

• Minimum requirement: 2 years of documented teaching experience at a secondary school (preferably at an IT technical high school – specializations: IT technician, programmer technician) or at a higher education institution.
• Required experience in conducting lectures and laboratory classes in the following areas:
  • Operating systems (Linux, Windows Server)
  • Computer networks (LAN, WAN, routing, switching, computer network security)
  • Administration of systems and network services
  • Virtualization (e.g., Proxmox, VMware)

Professional Requirements:

• Minimum requirement: One year of documented professional experience in IT support for an institution or enterprise.
• Practical knowledge of Cisco technologies and Linux/Red Hat systems, confirmed by completed courses.
• Advanced knowledge of Linux family operating systems, particularly Ubuntu Desktop/Server distributions, including managing the system environment and network services:
  • WWW servers (Apache2/Nginx)
  • SMB, DHCP, FTP, RDP
  • Firewall configuration (UFW or external solutions)
• Good knowledge of Docker Compose platform (container shell management) – at least at a good level.
• Knowledge of virtualization systems – Proxmox is welcome – and basics of container orchestration and virtual environment management, including:
  • Installation and configuration of Type 1 hypervisor
  • Deployment of a cluster with high availability (HA) mechanisms or distributed resource management (DRS)
  • Application of security policies
  • Resource management, creation and deployment of virtual machine images and containers
  • Firewall configuration (e.g., IPset) in the hypervisor management system
• Very good knowledge of network device configuration at the network and data link layer (OSI Layer 2 and 3) and the ability to select them appropriately for the environment's needs.

Certificates and Completed Technical Training:

• Minimum of 6 technical certificates are required, including:
  • At least 3 in computer networking (e.g., Cisco Networking Academy)
  • At least 2 in Linux/Red Hat system administration
  • At least 1 certificate in IT security or network services administration
• Additional assets will be participation in training in:
  • Fiber optic technologies
  • Windows Server administration
  • Network management in a Linux environment
  • Data analysis (e.g., Excel, BI)
  • Effective learning methods

Soft and Didactic Skills:

• Ability to convey knowledge clearly and engagingly.
• Experience in working with youth and students.
• Readiness for continuous professional development and improvement of didactic competencies.
• Experience in conducting practical classes at least at the technical high school level (IT technician or programmer).

The University offers the possibility of renting an apartment in Elbląg under very preferential conditions, supporting comfortable relocation and commencement of work.

The University reserves the right to contact selected individuals and the right to close the competition without selecting a candidate. The decision of the competition is final and not subject to appeal.

Employment in the position is conditional upon obtaining a positive opinion from the Senate of the Academy of Applied Sciences in Elbląg, which limits the employment period.
