How and why become a local contact point?

EURAXESS is a network created at the initiative of the European Commission to disseminate relevant information (scholarships, grants, financing opportunities) to researchers and to support their activities. Thanks to the EURAXESS network and website, you can promote doctoral scholarships, available jobs, partnerships in order to encourage research on European level.

43 countries are part of the network which has 260 service centers and local contact points, of which 6 are in Romania. These centers offer assistance on visa, work permits, school enrollment applications, social security, medical insurance to researchers and their accompanying family members.

Assistance is free of charge and involves offering information, directing researchers to competent authorities dealing with administrative issues. Moreover, service centers and local contact points offer support to foreign researchers to successfully integrate them in Romanian society – recommendations of language centers which offer Romanian language classes, advice on accommodation, prices, transport, touristic areas etc.
