Offer Description
We invite applications for a fully funded PhD position focused on the sustainable fabrication of high-performance bioelectrodes from seafood and aquaculture waste. The core aim of this research is to optimize hydrothermal processing conditions to convert seafood waste—primarily chitin-rich biomass—into carbon-rich materials suitable for energy storage applications. The successful candidate will contribute to the transformation of these biomaterials into chitosan with active functional groups (e.g., hydroxyl and amino groups), enhancing their interaction with conductive additives and ultimately their performance as bio-based electrodes
