Post-doctoral position to work on an ongoing research project based at the University of São Paulo's Institute of Biosciences (IB-USP) in Brazil. The post-doctoral researcher will be able to work with some of the projects that are the focus of our group: 1) The role of natural selection in the generation of similarities and differences between human populations; 2) How the processes of natural selection and admixture interact in shaping human population diversity; 3) How genetic diversity in immune function genes impacts the process of finding compatible donors for bone marrow transplants; 4) How admixture and selection shape the accumulation of deleterious mutations in the human genome.

This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationality. The selected candidate will receive a Post-Doctoral fellowship from the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) in the amount of R$ 12,000.00 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent on items directly related to the research activity.
