Description
Since its foundation in 1947, the Department of Romance Languageshas been one of the leading Czech university departments in its field. In recent years, the Department has transformed into a dynamic and prestigious scientific workplace with broad international contacts, where both domestic and foreign students are drawn. The Department offers philological studies in the main Romance languages at the BA, MA and PhD levels. It provides necessary institutional support and academic and scientific conditions to carry out postdoctoral projects. It is also involved in international research cooperation, especially with Spanish and American-Spanish institutions.
Enrique Gutiérrez Rubio holds degrees in Slavic and German studies and earned a PhD in Diachronic Czech Linguistics from the Complutense University of Madrid (Spain) in 2007. Since 2008, he has been an Assistant Professor at the Department of Romance Languages at Palacký University Olomouc (Czech Republic). He has published five books and over 50 journal articles and book chapters, primarily on Spanish and Czech morphology and phraseology. His recent research focuses on Machine Translation reception. He has supervised more than 100 BA and MA theses, three PhD theses, and, starting in September 2025, will supervise one MSCA postdoctoral researcher.

Candidate Requirements:
- Ph.D. no longer than 8 years at the time of submission (9/2025).
- Previous residence in the Czech Republic no longer than 12 months in the past 3 years.
