OFFER DESCRIPTION

The tasks will include: research on microorganisms and identification of volatile organic compounds emitted by them using gas chromatography with various detection systems: flame ionization detector (GC-FID), mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and thermal desorption (TD-GC- MS); developing a method for determining the markers of civilization diseases (respiratory diseases and cancer) with the use of GC-MS; determination of markers from bacterial cultures at the trace level using the ion mobility spectrometer (IMS).

Your expected employment will commence on 01 June 2021 r.

Employment contract for 12 months.

 

Selection of the candidates will be based on evaluation of submitted documentation and on the interview with selected candidates.

The Competition Commission reserves the right to notification of the decision, only the selected candidate.

Skills/Qualifications

The competition is open to persons who meet the conditions set out in Article 113 of the Act of 20 July 2018 - Law on higher education and

science (Journal of Laws of 2018, item 1668) and the following qualification criteria:

- PhD in the field of exact and natural sciences in the field of chemical or physical sciences;

- knowledge of analytical chemistry, identification of microorganisms;

- knowledge of chromatographic techniques, mass spectrometry and coupled techniques (GC / MS, TD-GC / MS, GC-FID) as well as sample preparation methods;

- experience in the field of microbiology analysis;

- research experience in work in various international groups, which should be confirmed by an appropriate publication, experience in implementing research projects as a co-contractor;

- experience supported by publications from the JCR list and international activity, e.g. participation in international conferences or internships abroad;

- computer skills including Microsoft Office packages;

- good knowledge of English enabling publishing of scientific papers and scientific stays in foreign research units.
