Job description
As part of our growth ambitions, we seek a new colleague who is passionate about doing high-level research and deliver high-quality education related to leadership development. Candidates working on such topics as leadership development at individual and team levels, CEOs, and executive boards would have an advantage. A successful candidate will have a proven track record of relevant research published in a top tier journals and experience in leadership development education at both MSc and MBA levels. The position is embedded in a supportive international work environment of the Organisational Behaviour and HRM research section of the Management and Organisation Department of the School of Business and Economics, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Your duties
- initiate and perform high-quality research in the field of leadership (development), culminating in top tier publications and grant acquisitions
- initiate and develop executive leadership development programmes
- Teach and design courses at the postgraduate level (e.g., full-time/part-time PhD programmes; executive education), master level (e.g., MSc Business Administration, and/or MBA and Executive MBA), and bachelor level (e.g., the SBE International Business Administration); supervise bachelor and master theses
- contribute to the management of the Department / School (e.g., by serving on committees)
- be committed to obtaining a university teaching qualification, or to possess one already

A challenging position in a socially involved organization. On full-time basis the remuneration amounts to a minimum gross monthly salary of €3,746 (scale 11) and a maximum of €6,317 (scale 13), depending on your education and experience. The job profile (Universitair docent/ Universitair hoofddocent) is based on the university job ranking system and is vacant for at least 1,0 FTE. The initial employment contract will affect a period of 6 years, with the possibility of tenure. Specific Requirements
Candidates are required to have a PhD in Business Administration/ Management, Organisational Psychology/Science, or a related field in the Social Sciences, and should be fluent in English. A strong track record of research publications in top journals in the field of management and organisational behaviour is a strong asset.
