Offer Description
Our group is committed to advancing mass spectrometry. We excel in 'native' mass spectrometry, revealing nucleic acid structures and interactions with ligands and proteins. We are seeking a bright PhD candidate to join our dynamic research team. The successful candidate will develop and apply innovative native mass spectrometry techniques to investigate how covalent modifications influence the secondary and tertiary structures of tRNAs. This research encompasses fundamental studies on temperature-variable electrospray mass spectrometry (MS) and ion mobility spectrometry, integrated with native top-down fragmentation methods. The objective is to elucidate the impact of natural tRNA modifications on their biophysical and biochemical stability. This work aims to provide new insights for data interpretation and contribute significantly to our understanding of RNA biology.
