The Research Group MaXRay: Magnetism and Coherent X-Ray Imaging is looking for
Postdoctoral Researcher (f/m/d) for GHz Resonant Excitation of High-Performance Spintronic Materials
Your Tasks
- Fabrication of spinwave injector devices (nanolithography and materials growth)
- FMR, spin-torque FMR, and spinwave transport experiments (non-local spin valves)
- Preparation of membrane samples for transmission x-ray and electron measurements
- Direct measurement of magnons through time-resolved scattering and imaging experiments at large-scale facilities
- Interpretation, presentation, and publication of the results
- Supervision and support of students
- Commissioning of our FMR setup
- Lead of and participation in beamtime experiments
Your Profile
- PhD degree in physics, materials science, or related fields
- Background: Experimental spintronics research
- Scientific expertise in magnonics, spin-torque nanooscillators, vortex gyration or related topics
- Technical expertise in nano-patterning (e-beam, optical, FIB, Ar milling, …), GHz electronics, FMR measurements, time-resolved imaging, or related techniques
- High quality publication track record including excellent first-author publications
- Highly motivated to work in an international team on a competitive topic, with proven independence and excellent problem-solving skills
- Fluent in English (C1 or better, no certificate required)
- Ability to present clearly
- Experience in the design and implementation of instrumentation is preferred
