We are looking for a Ph.D. who will work in the NCN OPUS 27 project “ The two are better than one – biferrocenyl ROS generators as intelligent anticancer agents”
1. The candidate must hold a doctoral degree in chemical sciences (in organic chemistry). The doctoral degree must have been received within the last 7 years (counting from 1.01.2025).
This 7-year long time period may be extended by the time spent on long-term (more than 90 days) documented sickness benefits or rehabilitation benefits due to his/her inability to work. In addition, the 7-year long may be extended by the number of months spent on leave for the care and upbringing of children granted in accordance with the rules of the Labor Code, and in the case of women intending to enter the competition - by 18 months for each child born or adopted, if this way of indicating gaps in a scientific career is more favorable. The time period indicated above may not be shortened or further extended by the competition organizer. Obligatorily, the doctorate must be defended in an Academic Institution other than the University of Łódź.
2. The candidate must show documented by publications (publication list should be attached to documentation), knowledge in organic synthesis in laboratory scale. He should have experience in spectroscopic identification of organic compounds with spectroscopic methods (NMR, IR, MS, and UV/Vis). Experience in HPLC will be regarded as an additional advantage. Knowledge in specialized software (e.g. TopSpin, ChemDraw ect.) is required. Written and spoken English skills should be confirmed by relevant certificate or statement. He should possess documented experience in presentation of scientific results (lectures, oral presentations).
Scope of tasks in the project:
Planning and conducting organic synthesis. Obtaining of anticancer active ferrocenyl and organic compounds relevant to the project. Spectroscopic characterization of obtained compounds. Data recording and archival. Writing reports and presenting the results.
