Offer Description
Research management the Research and Development Laboratory at the Department of Medical Physics, Cyclotron Center Bronowice (CCB), IFJ PAN. Conducting research on the development of medical physics methods and related fields to optimize proton radiotherapy at CCB. Applying for external funding (grants) to support research beyond IFJ PAN funding. Presenting research findings through publications and conference presentations. Engaging in science communication acitivies. Training young researchers.

Requirements

- PhD or equivalent
- Habilitated Doctor (Dr. habil.) title in the field of physics,
- At least 10 years of experience in medical physics/proton radiotherapy;
- Experience in leading a research group and scientific projects;
- Experience in mentoring young researchers (PhD students, postdocs);
- International collaboration documented through publications, cooperation agreements and grants;
- Significant increase in scientific output after obtaining the habilitated doctor title.
Welcome:
- Specialist title in the field of medical physics;
- Knowledge of experimental and computational methods, as well as radiobiology, applied in medical physics and proton radoptherapy;
- Teaching experience.

The candidates’ applications are examined and reviewed by the Selection Committee. Based on the submitted applications, the Selection Committee prepares a list of the candidates admitted to the competition and pass it to the Institute Director. The Selection Committee determines the ranking. If need be, the Selection Committee may ask the candidates to give presentations or invite them to interviews. At the session of the Scientific Council the Selection Committee presents a report on its activity with the justification for the choice of the candidate as the winner of the competition.
Type of Contract: For a postdoctoral fellow, an employment contract with IFJ PAN as the primary place of employment.
For a titular professor, an appointment or employment contract.
