At the Medical University of Vienna a position as Assistant Professor in Mental and Brain Health according to § 99 (5) University Law 2002 (UG) is announced.
The Medical University of Vienna is one of Europe’s premiere institutions for biomedical and clinical research. We are looking for a highly qualified scientist in the field of neurosciences and mental health with enthusiasm for inter- and multidisciplinary research, and commitment to teaching.
We offer:
The successful candidate will be offered a tenure-track Assistant Professor position (according to §99 (5) Austrian University Law 2002) for a maximum duration of six years. If, during this time, the successful candidate meets the tenure criteria stipulated in the qualification agreement, he:she will be promoted to tenured Associate Professor. The gross salary for this position is based on the collective agreement for university employees (§49, A2) and may be adjusted depending on previous work experience.

Your profile:
- Completed scientific or medical education with PhD or equivalent degree.
- International recognition in the respective research area.
- Successful and continuous acquisition of peer-reviewed third-party funding.
- Educational and didactic qualifications including supervision of Masters and PhD students.
- Diversity and gender competence.
- International working experience.
The candidate is expected to have an outstanding expertise in neuroscientific and psychiatric/psychological understanding of mind-brain-interaction to strengthen, expand and cross-link the research strategies within the Comprehensive Center for Clinical Neurosciences and Mental Health (C3NMH). This includes the mutual interplay of early development in mind and brain, biological and psychosocial markers of mental and nervous system disorders, prevention and early intervention in mental and nervous system disorders, and protection of mental and brain health. Translational and interdisciplinary competency is of utmost importance for the collaboration with the different departments of the C3NMH and the Medical Neuroscience Cluster.
